The roommate of the girl-next-door
During the pre-internet '70's, '80's and '90s, freelance photographers were making a pretty good living, as well as having loads of fun, shooting models and selling their work to all of the men's print magazines. Daizie Kellogg was the discovery of a veteran photographer who contributed to many of The SCORE Group titles. He spotted Daizie one day during the summer of 1999 at the beach on Fiesta Island in Mission Bay, San Diego, California. He handed Daizie his card, she accepted and he eventually arranged the first of several photo shoots which he sent to us. Daizie was just 18 years old.
Daizie was a hit with SCORE and V-mag readers. Slim and stacked and very pretty, she was really much more of a SCORE Girl than a Voluptuous Girl in shape and measurements. "That woman is just downright amazing," wrote Sam W. from Maryland. "I wish my girlfriend looked like her."
That was one of Daizie's major blessings: She looked like the girl-next-door that most guys want for a girlfriend. And she also looked like the girl-next-door's sister. In fact, Daizie was the girl-next-door. That term basically means approachable, friendly and down-to-earth as opposed to the hard-edged, aloof type of model who only gives the time of day to a weightlifting male stripper who may still have a mullet and drives a Vette.
An actress-slash-model-slash-waitress who had also danced at the local San Diego Deja Vu club, Daizie eventually contacted us directly and later flew to Miami for shoots at the SCORE building. She did one video and spent the rest of her time posing for photos. Daizie didn't have an interest in videos, which was not uncommon at the time with models. These days, everyone is used to shooting and being in videos because of the commonality of the camcorder and now the Smartphone, the Net, two-billion social networking sites and the ubiquitous web-cam. Video is everywhere in our everyday lives, but it wasn't 10 years ago.
Daizie actually shot a XXX guy-girl photo set (published in July 2000 SCORE) before she visited SCORE, but she didn't want to do a video version of her coupling. Our philosophy about this is half a loaf is better than none.
Daizie later resurfaced as Diana Kellar for the March 2003 issue of Looker magazine, a SCORE Group magazine that focused more on the glam side with no explicitness. After that, Daizie dropped out of the modeling game except for a few car shows in California. For those, she was fully dressed.
"I hate guys with a stick in their ass," Daizie said when asked about her personal interests and hobbies. Since most guys with a stick in their asses would not be interested in girls, let alone read our magazines, Daizie didn't come across too many of them. "I am very humorous, so guys need to be, too. I like guys' hands. Hands are sexy. I like my skin touched more than anything else. My skin and breasts are so sensitive. I'm also a huge sports fan. I love watching any sport, live or on TV. But I love to watch hockey in person. That's the best."
